I have a bunch of friends’ pictures and other stuff in my computer that I want to backup but I don’t really want to pay for it. In fact I would probably just try to store them in an old HDD indefinitely and hope for the best, if there was no better option. But I would much prefer if there was some safer alternative long-term, with a free tier large enough to hold hundreds of GBs. It doesn’t have to private, encrypted or anything. It just has to be long-term. Also, it can be restricive to a single media/file-type (such as images, text, .mp3 or whatever).

I know Degoo offers a pretty large free-tier, but it’s not large enough. Also I know Amazon photos would offer unlimited space but I don’t use Prime.

Does anyone have any option? Thanks.

Note: also interested in options that are unrestrictive in size but most likely not suitable for huge amounts of data. (e.g: Github for storing large collections of logs and text.)

You have hundreds of GB of friends’ pictures on your computer? Assuming an average (conservatively high) file size of 10 MB per image, that’s 10,000 pictures per 100 GB.

You probably aren’t going to be able to store your AI training dataset on someone else’s platform for free, at least not in a way that is convenient to access.
