So I have researched about self hosting your own email server such as Mailcow but it seems pretty divided on whether or not you should do it due emails potentially not getting delivered due to spam filters and such. So I’m kinda not interested in self hosting so I’m wondering what is the next best option to get my own email ideally for free but maybe settle for really cheap?

Zoho offers free and cheap plans. Free for up to five users, and the cheapest option is under $ 1 per mailbox and month.

I have set this up for a community project and it worked for years without problems.

Cloudflare can do it for free.

    Create your account

Add that domain to the list of your sites

Then set up an email route with catch all forwarding that goes to any Gmail address you control.

The beauty of this is that

    Webmaster@my-domain.com

    Sales@my-domain.com

    Support@my-domain.com

Also come to you, and may look more professional

Alternative: Google workspaces will do it, and Gmail becomes the interface with no forwarding. It’s slightly less automated to set up vs cloudflare.

How do you send replies? Just populate replyto and send from wherever it waa received?

Edit, oh my bad, it hosts and redirects to another domain / destination email.

ImprovMX if you’re only using one email address. If you want multiples on the same domain, I like Fastmail.
