and here i am with a rpi running two VMs 🤭
i don’t, i created a docker VM (and a couple others) and then i backup the VMs (proxmox + PBS make this very easy) with all their data in /home/docker/config/*
i used to have them run off networked storage but i found it to be to slow/have other issues
this also means for the primary important services that VM runs in HA and moves to another node when needed
unraid is slow, not something you can expect to be faster then a single disk\most likely will be slower because of its design
you likely want something like truenas scale which will properly make use of multiple disks for speed/iops but it will be a much steeper learning curve
Also independent way to verify files. I cfv everything before a big move and then after to check
