First off, I understand the limitations of availability in Australia vs USA or Europe. I’m in Japan which presents its own pricing issues, especially with energy usage.
The case, go with something cheaper and versatile, even if it’s used (but in good shape). For example, if you don’t mind a big case, I’m a fan of the Define R5! You can even upgrade the fans when needed and it has 8 3.5" drive bays built in plus other space. (I just searched Gumtree and it wasn’t promising for that case, but you get the idea)
I don’t know why you specced out 2.5" drives. 3.5" are cheaper, higher density, and easier to buy. Are you going for a small quiet NAS? Then why the larger case?
