Hey all,
I have a UniFi Dream Machine SE, and a Synology NAS that runs an OpenVPN server. I run a small project with friends and they are located in South America. One recently went to visit Japan and connected to the VPN and now anytime I use Google Suite, or search I get results in Japanese. I’ve flushed DNS cache on the router and the NAS, and all the computers in the house. What am I missing?
Your home IP geolocation was probably changed to Japan by Google when your friend used your VPN. To change it back, you’ll need to connect to your home network (possibly via the VPN) with a device with GPS, such as a smartphone. You may need to stand outside your house and use Google services (e.g. search, gmail, etc).
It may take some time for Google to update its geolocation database, so be patient.
