So I got fiber installed yesterday and it works fine except for one thing. When using WiFi I get the full speed of 350 mbps. But when I connect my pc to my router with a pan cable(cat6) it locks at 100. I have no idea what to do I called my isp so many times and they’ve been of no help.
Yeah i fixed the issue. The store i bought my ethernet cable from scammed me saying the cable was cat 6 while it wasnt. i tried the cable that came with the router and it worked fine and i got 400mbps.
It may have just been a defective or improperly made cable. Even cat 5 can support gigabit links if manufactured properly.
What brand was the store cable? How long? Can you share pictures of it, especially of the plugs showing the wired inside?
what ia the router model?
but its only 1 metre so i have to order one from amazon
Order from a reputable company, on Amazon. Monoprice is my go to. The Monoprice Slimrun cables are nice.
Stay away from anything ‘rated’ higher than CAT6 or CAT6A as well as flat cable.
I didnt think stores would actually scam their customers
