I have this connector on my optic fibers cable and I want to remove the connector so I can pass through a hole in the wall I have no tools for optic fiber cables and i cannot make the whole any larger, can I remove the connector from the cable and put it back on ?
Takes some skill to terminate fiber.
You need special tool to do it.
you will need to get someone to come in and reterminate it. this is not something a novice can do nor someone without the proper tools. Also be careful as the fibre inside is like a glass needle.
Looking at this botched termination someone did, I’d find someone to reterminate it, what’s not hard, since this is a reusable connector and anyone with a cleaver kit can do it.
Make a bigger hole
You need special equipment as everyone said.
They need to cut the fiber and then polish it to a near perfect microscopic finish, so it has the best optical quality. You can’t do that without expensive equipment and knowledge.
Thanks to all of you who were supportive, It turns our you could actually disconnect it and reconnect and that’s what I did, although somehow after slight movement in the cable after connecting it to the modem it broke ! if it breaks you will need to get a technician… You can simply disconnect and reconnect but you will have to be very very careful because it’s incredibly delicate, you could easily get dust or scratch/break the fiber easily, you need to wipe it before reconnecting
