They all seem to be using Tuya app and TT lock which seem to have a good reputation, so I was wondering about other software /physical vulnerabilities after watching the LawPickingLawyer unlock Yale / Nest brand by slapping them iirc.

I would be concerned with the access to your network
Customers networks, and then OP might be found liable. Especially if they had touted security.
about 1% of homes are ever broken into through picked locks. a software exploit is going to be even more rare
the majority of burglaries are from kicked in doors, unlocked doors and windows, smashed in glass.
unless a home already has laminated glass throughout, a euro style multi point locking door, a well designed security system and physical deterrents then a lock itself is the smallest concern.
even if all of those things are done, then a lock itself is still a very small concern.
Locks are pretty easy to bypass.
Are you willing to trust your company on a Chinese app and servers? They can go away in an instant you should be looking for things with local API’s.
The chances of them being secure are less than zero.
I’d have a really good liability policy if you’re planning on selling them and then be careful of your representations
companies that do the successfully go visit the factory themselves, and have experts evaluate product, safety, and security.
Even so, you have to constantly monitor for changes. Multiple factories produce the same product and there’s little respect for intellectual property the Chinese companies rip each other off left and right.
So the quality from a given exporter could radically change overnight.
nobody picks locks. thieves and intruders kick doors down within 2 seconds. take whatever then leave under 10 minutes. hackers got better things to do than hacking your locks.
