I’m looking for some help to find ways to better improve my internet connection in my home.

I have 1 GB download with Rogers with a couple Deco M5 Mesh wifi extenders.

My issue is with this 1GB I pay for a receive roughly 130Mb/s. Plus there must be a ping issue of sorts as whenever I am gaming I have constant button delay and lag.

I have a 3500 sf home (Modem main floor), no Ethernet cables running through the house, and when I’m gaming it’s either in my basement or in my room.

What can I do to have faster more consistent connection without running Ethernet through my whole house. Do I need a different modem, I use the one that Rogers provided us.

If running lines in your house isn’t an option I suggest connecting the meshes to your consoles/pc directly with an Ethernet cable. Only way to get 1gbps reliably is with a wired connection from main router to device. Upgrading to a wifi 6 mesh system will probably help some.

I actually do connect my console to one of my meshes with an Ethernet. But still only receive maybe 150 mb and high ping.

Is there any router recommendations or wifi 6 mesh systems you’d recommend?

I get it wireless is easy…but it’s very limited and increases your Ping/latency most of the time. Unless you start getting into better equipment beyond consumer grade.

Best case run some cat 6 cables
