I’m relocating the wiring cabinet from my bedroom closet out to my garage. Does anyone know what the green cable that is wired to the 110v plug is? This is new construction and the house was cabled by Vitex Systems in FL.

A/V tech here. If I had to bet I would say that the internet provider would only run fiber to a location of the house that’s far from here, and had no power. I would think that an enterprising person used this wire to get power over the ONT.

The green cables I usually see are grounds for the ONT. Here, it looks like its spliced into that power adapter, so maybe power for your ONT or something? In either case, doesn’t seem right, lol.

I was curious about a similar thing in my house, and it turned out to be the house alarm power supply.

Originally thought it was a Ground wire, but upon closer inspection I see it’s likely just a sheeth that houses a red and black wire. My guess is doorbell in that case.
