Hard to know with much certainty not knowing your exact setup. But, phones have very nice antennas, and PCs typically do not. If you have a free PCI slot, you might consider adding a wifi antenna. I think there are ways to do it without one as well, though you might have to re-do the contacts on the existing one. And of course, if you can get a hard line on the PC, that will be fastest.
