Hi guys,

I’m planning to lease the office room shown in the video with a few colleagues soon. One visited the room today and sent this video.

A singular RJ45 or RJ11 jack is visible on the left-side of the room. It is protruding from the wall next to a regular electrical outlet. The cameraman, my colleague, did not ask about the Internet capabilities or get a close-up video of the jack.

The goal is to have wired and wireless Internet access. What are my option if it is an RJ11 jack? Can you tell what kind of port it is based on the video (a far cry, I know)? And if an RJ45 jack, I should be all set, right?

Thank you

RJ45 is wider than an RJ11. RJ11 usually only has 4 connectors but can use 6. If you have an RJ11 jack and wiring you’ll be lucky to get 10Mbps max. If you have RJ45 you can still use it for telephony if you want since it will work. The bigger question would be, where does that line go and what type of cabling. Even if you’re fine with 10Mbps, if it connects to the POTS network you’ll just succeed in frying your devices if the Ring and Tip lines are shorted.
