So basically I currently use ethernet and I can download games at around 700 mb/s which, to me, is amazing. But then I go to play a game like brawlhalla and everything is fine for the first game, but after that, for no reason at all, my ping skyrockets and it starts lagging uncontrollably. The ookla speed test tells me I have about 890 mb/s download and about 230 upload. I don’t have any problems at all with anything internet-related, apart from playing certain games. It is very frustrating because it almost seems like nobody had ever had this problem before because I can’t seem to find a solution anywhere.

I have tried:

- Factory resetting my pc (for unrelated reasons)

- Deleting and redownloading the game and steam

- Disconnecting the ethernet cable and reconnecting it about 30 seconds later

- Optimizing nvidia 3D settings

- Optimizing game settings (in-games settings and steam settings)

- And a lot of other things that I can’t remember right now

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know because at this point I’d rather play with regular ping and lose than win with terrible ping.

You could probably explain what you mean by “lagging.”

First off, your internet speed is nearly irrelevant. Latency is what you’re looking for, if it is internet related at all. If it’s low frame rates you’re concerned with, your internet connection is not relevant at all.
