I have been pulling my hair out over the past few days trying to get 2.4Gbps over Wi-Fi6 on my RT-AX92U router. I understand that this can only be achived over the 160MHZ band. The only way I get the option to enable 160MHZ band is by selecting “United States” as my current location. However, even after I enable the 160MHZ band, 5GHZ-2 ssid stays on 80MHZ and I only get 1.2Gbps on my Intel AX201 wifi card. I have tried to manually assign all available channels, turned off wifi N & AC, fiddled with the settings on the “professional” tab to no joy. Smartconnect is disabled, wifi mode is set to AX only. I’ve also forced the wifi card to only use ax wifi, enabled throughput booster, maximum transmit power to no effect. I’ve tried flashing various firmware’s including merlin without any luck.

My simple question is, can a single AX92U really achive 2.4Gbps on ax wifi since I’ve seen some videos on youtube to prove that ?

What else can I try to enable the 160MHZ band that I already haven’t tried?

I’m located in Australia and when scanning nearby SSID’s I can see a couple of AX wifi ssid’s on the 160MHZ band.

Thanks
