Greetings all!

I’m looking at label makers and am having difficulty making a final choice. I was hoping that I could specify my intended use and get some feedback from the sub, or if I’m in the wrong place I’d appreciate if someone could direct me to the right place.

I’ve narrowed it down to the Brady BMP41 or the Brother PTE550W.

My intended use isn’t professional it’s mostly for home network purposes, however I’d also like to use for general use around the home when I’m trying to organise things.

I have the following questions/considerations:

  • I very much like the wrap around style of label for Coax and RJ45. I’m pretty sure the Brady can do it, but I’m not seeing any indication that the Brother can.
  • Since I likely won’t be using these constantly is there a risk of ink drying out? Sorry if it’s a silly question, I’m unclear on how the labels are actually printed.
  • Is the pricing very incredibly different for the labels themselves? My understanding is that the Brady is more expensive, but how much more expensive? If I’m not going to use it constantly is the price difference enough that it should still be a consideration when selecting?
  • Is there any other Pro/Con that I need to take into consideration before making the purchase?
  • Is there another option that I’m not considering that maybe I should?

Any help or insight that can be offered would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks!

I got the DYMO 160 for his labeling storage around the house (two actually) and I’ve been very happy with them. Labels stay on well, even in cold weather (attic, garage, and barn).
