  • If you’re in an apartment, it’s probably proximity to all the other wifi access points that your neighbors have that’s the issue. Generally, all the access points come set up on channel 6 by default. This leads to everyone’s signal stomping on everyone else’s and no one getting a good signal. Your wifi issue could be fixed as easily as changing the channel your access point is set to.

    You can get a wifi analyzer app for your phone that will tell you which channels are clear, then set your existing access point to that channel. Might solve your issue without having to buy anything.
