In my case, I disabled the WiFi from my router and set up the mesh WiFi in its place, with its SSID and password. That way, I had a seamless transition for all my devices
What’s your use case? I don’t think the WiFi from the Router will be too bad for like, Lemmy on mobile, even in Bedroom 2. For videos maybe. If you want to get Internet on TVs and desktop PCs, just use the Ethernet cable directly, why bother with WiFi.
If you can plug your NAS to your PC, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work like you described. However, it is possible that the USB port on the NAS is only for plugging an external drive into it, and not a PC. I guess you should check the manuals on the NAS you’re interested in
Can’t you just reformat them from Windows? Through Disk Management, I guess, if you don’t see it directly in the Explorer
In my case, I could configure my TV remote to control the AV receiver’s volume directly from the TV. The remote is an LG “Magic Remote”, so I assume it’s just a universal remote of some kind.
It probably doesn’t help for your “2 minutes later” thing, though
More bandwidth means better performance, but also that you’re more impacted by interference. However if as you said the neighbours are at -75 dBm (or a 55 dB signal to interference ratio) it’s really not an issue
