10 months agoMy first thoughts are a cellphone booster with a old phone acting as a hotspot but one needs to dedicate a sim card to this type of low tech solution. This might be too small for the scale of the project though. Good luck in curious how it turns out.
I’ve found over the years my Google Home Assistant app on my phones and Google Hubs can handle all of my different brand smart devices which includes switches, plugs, light bulbs, and smart home products like audio and visual equipment, not to mention my Sensi thermostat.
Once I set up the device in the manufacturer’s app I never use it again as Google controls my drives from there once I link them to Google Assistant.
Google also allows for automation with digital timers and automated commands to control devices too. I think Alexa can do the same thing but I’ve not tried it. It’s a lot easier since the days of physical controllers from radio shack…
